WELCOME

Komodo Dragon

The Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) is the largest living lizard in the world, found only on a few islands in Indonesia such as Komodo, Rinca, and Flores. As an apex predator, it hunts with powerful strength and mild venom. Its life cycle is unique from tree-dwelling juveniles avoiding cannibalistic adults, to reaching up to 3 meters in length and living for 30 years. Threatened by climate change and human activity, the Komodo dragon is protected by law and is a key focus of conservation efforts within Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. More than a biological marvel, it stands as a symbol of Indonesia’s wild legacy and a rare global attraction.
